Tanzania Charity Challenge
World Vision and Intrepid Travel are launching their second charity challenge, Trek Kilimanjaro, departing February 2009.
On this extraordinary trip to Tanzania, East Africa, you will climb the legendary Kilimanjaro, experience world-renowned game reserves, meet Maasai communities and see the work of World Vision first-hand.
Just three degrees south of the Equator the extraordinary 5,895m-high, permanently snow-capped, peak of Mount Kilimanjaro is Africa's highest mountain. The ascent takes you from the lush tropical lowlands into a lofty and other-worldly alpine zone. Kili offers amateur hikers one of the best opportunities in the world to climb at high altitude.
Spending time in the World Vision community of Magugu, you will experience for yourself the hospitality of the Tanzanian people. If you are a sponsor of a Tanzanian child you may also have the opportunity to meet him or her.
This challenge will be hugely rewarding. It will test your limits, it will stretch your boundaries and you will raise serious funds for the community you visit.
