Savings scheme
In Khla Krohem Khar village a group of 10 families have banded together and, with World Vision ’s help, are making plans for the future.
The group is saving money together, to be used as an emergency assistance fund.
“Previously, my family has never thought of saving money, as we are pessimistic of being poor. It is different at the moment, we start saving money through a family account and group account,” says group leader Long Sarath. “When the saved money increases, our group plans to share the fund in village development activity, village ceremonies and assistance for the elderly who are poor. We have never thought about this before,” he says happily.
