Whether you’re updating your Will or creating one for the first time, we’re here to help. Including a gift in your Will is simple to do, doesn’t impact on your day-to-day living and gives satisfaction knowing that your generosity will live on.
There are three main ways of including a gift in your Will. Your legal advisor will clarify for you what best suits your wishes and circumstances:
- Residual - remainder of your estate after taking care of your loved ones
- Percentage - a percentage of the value of your estate
Suggested wording:
"I give to World Vision New Zealand (CC25984) the residue of my estate (or ……………% of my estate for its general purposes and declare that the receipt of the Chair or other authorised officer shall be full and sufficient discharge for my Trustees."When preparing your Will, we advise seeking qualified legal advice including a solicitor, the
Public Trust Office or a trustee company such as
Perpetual Guardian. The
New Zealand Law Society and your local
Citizen's Advice Bureau can help you find a solicitor if you don't already have one.
