You can transform the lives of the next generation of vulnerable children and communities living in extreme poverty and dangerous places by including a gift in your Will.

Since 1974 we have worked hard to make sure that all resources entrusted to us are used as efficiently and effectively as possible to bring maximum impact to children and communities in need. We have strong checks and balances in place to ensure your money goes where we say it will.

Whether you’re updating your Will or creating one for the first time, we’re here to help. Including a gift in your Will is simple to do, doesn’t impact on your day-to-day living and gives satisfaction knowing that your generosity will live on.

There are three main ways of including a gift in your Will. Your legal advisor will clarify for you what best suits your wishes and circumstances:

• Residual - remainder of your estate after taking care of your loved ones
• Percentage - a percentage of the value of your estate

Suggested wording:
"I give to World Vision New Zealand (CC25984) the residue of my estate (or ……………% of my estate for its general purposes and declare that the receipt of the Chair or other authorised officer shall be full and sufficient discharge for my Trustees."

When preparing your Will, we advise seeking qualified legal advice including a solicitor, the Public Trust Office or a trustee company such as Perpetual Guardian. The New Zealand Law Society and your local Citizen's Advice Bureau can help you find a solicitor if you don't already have one.
 

As it may be many years before your gift becomes a reality, we encourage you not to be too specific in your Will as World Vision New Zealand priorities and projects change over time. We ask you to trust our experienced leadership team to use the gift where it is most needed. 

It's not possible to specify that your future gift goes to support your sponsored child. As it may be many years before your gift becomes a reality, we want to make sure your gift goes where it’s needed most at the time. This means that as our work evolves to better serve children and families in the world’s toughest places, your gift can evolve with it. Please trust our experienced leadership team to use your gift where it’s needed most, so you can make the greatest impact for future generations.
