In seconds, homes and hospitals collapsed. Schools now lie in ruins. Families are searching frantically for loved ones beneath the rubble.

More than 1,700 people have died, with the number still rising. Thousands more are injured and many are still missing.

“We are particularly worried about children who may have been travelling to school at the time of the earthquake and now may be trapped under rubble and separated from parents,” says Dr Kyi Minn, World Vision’s national director in Myanmar.

Help provide children and families who've lost everything with food, shelter, water, and other life-saving essentials. Give now

Myanmar is one of the world's most dangerous places to be a child

The earthquake compounds an already dire humanitarian situation in Myanmar, which has been struggling with overlapping challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic and political upheaval. 1 in 3 people already required humanitarian assistance, including families who had been uprooted from their homes.

Our local teams are there, but to be able to help, they desperately need more resources.
